UIndy Theatre is the home of theatrical expression at the University of Indianapolis. It is part of the Department of Communication, which also houses UIndy Studios and the student newspaper, The Reflector. Program Director, Grant Williams teaches the core curriculum as well as directs and coordinates the four shows that UIndy Theatre puts on every year. Show are done in the Studio, our blackbox theatre, or the larger Ransburg Auditorium.  Students can, and are encouraged, to be a part of shows starting right in their freshman year. Get involved and receive college credit by being part of the cast or crew in the Theatre Experiential class.

One show per year is a fully student-run show with professional theatre credentials. Often this show is done as part of the IndyFringe Theatre Festival in August. A show in February, the Artists’ Showcase, is a highlight of theatrical talent open to all UIndy students. The other two shows offer a mix between traditional theatre, reinterpretations of classics, musicals, or locally written work.
